Honeycomb cardboard displays for signs
KU Leuven opts for ecological and eye-catching printed displays
For an event of KU Leuven we took care of the informative printed matter that was used at various locations. Each location received its own signage, clearly visible to visitors.
Honeycomb cardboard was deliberately chosen as the carrier: a light, sturdy and ecological material based on recycled paper. Honeycomb cardboard is 100% recyclable, making it a sustainable alternative to, for example, plastic panels.
The panels were printed in full colour, recto or recto/verso depending on the visibility on site. In addition, they were cut in specific shapes, which provided extra attention and a dynamic look.
A fine example of how durability, quality and creativity go hand in hand at Jacobs Printing.
Why honeycomb board is a smart choice
Honeycomb cardboard combines several properties that make it an ideal choice of material for all kinds of applications:
- Robustness and lightness: thanks to its hexagonal honeycomb structure, this cardboard offers a very specific strength-to-weight ratio, despite being up to 80% lighter than materials such as MDF, this material offers great resistance to compression and bending.
- Ecological and circular: made of recycled cardboard on the one hand and fully recyclable on the other, honeycomb cardboard therefore has a low carbon footprint both during production and transport (lightweight) - in short, a sustainable choice.
- Flexible in design: can be beautifully printed, cut up and formed into whimsical shapes, enabling creative design and eye-catching displays.
- Assembly-friendly: perfect to combine into free-standing structures or stable displays, easy to assemble - without heavy substructure.
In short: honeycomb board offers an ideal mix of strength, durability, freedom of form and ease of use, making it a top material for events, POS displays and creative applications.
